Hello, Family and Community Members!

My name is Mrs. Nora H. Farraj, and I am your Director of Community Relations! Integral to a strong school community is forming and maintaining partnerships with our parents, families, and community members.

I have the unique and amazing position of being both your Director of Community Relations and Assistant Principal of Chaffey Adult School. I have the pleasure of connecting parents and engaging them in their children’s schools; while at the same time, helping parents and families further their own personal and academic goals. Together, we can positively impact student achievement and help meet the district’s vision of “All students will graduate ready for college and careers.”

Please feel free to reach out to me for both parent/community partnerships and training opportunities along with your own career and academic interests. Follow me on Twitter @Academic_Farraj and Instagram @cjuhsd_communityrelations

Hello & Marhaba in Arabic!

  • Not only am I employed by this amazing district, I am also a proud parent of two Los Osos High School graduates from the Classes of 2020 and 2023. Both of my daughters have enriching experiences from their high school that are at the core of the district’s commitment to create favorable learning environments by embracing diversity and meeting the needs of all learners.

Learning about the beautiful cultures that represent our district is a passion for me. I have had the privilege of traveling to over 25 countries across the globe, having lived in Saudi Arabia and Jordan. I have taught English to elementary and middle school children at a private school in Amman, Jordan, and was also the public relations director, working closely with all stakeholders during family and community engagement events, oftentimes assisting with Arabic-English translations. After leaving Jordan, I have taught English to high school and adult students, allowing me to gain a wide array of educational experiences.
